Ponds Age Miracle Cell ReGEN Day Cream SPF 15 PA++ Review

Hi there,

Your skin is reflection of your health. It is said that your skin is what you eat. But it is not possible to eat healthy. Lifestyle factors such as stress, busy schedules, lack of sleep etc which take a toll on one’s skin for sure. Also aging is a factor no one can run or hide form. Anti aging is not a new concept but every one who is even little bit into skin care knows the importance of anti aging. The one I review today is an anti aging day cream. Let us get into details straight forward.

Price: Rs.349 for 35 gm

Ingredients:

This is a Retinol based cream. Retinols are highly effective in repairing skin damages especially the aging skin issues. The main ingredients of this cream are Bio Actives which have been named as Intelligent Pro-Cell Complex. It contains CLA, Retinol, Retinol Boosters, AHA, Glycerin & 12 HSA.

My Views:

The cream comes in a glass tub which is semi transparent and has red lid. The packaging is attractive and has been a signature from Pond’s from several years now. The glass tub is quite thick still prone to breakage if dropped. Texture of the cream is very fine and smooth. The color of the cream is pinkish white. The smell is strong but pleasant.

I have crossed 25, hence it is high time that I start using the anti aging stuff to delay the aging effect on my skin. Pond’s is quite a trusted brand for me. I remember using its face wash and oil free cream during my teens. So I got the anti aging day cream from the Age Miracle range of the brand to start my anti aging regimen. I don’t like skin care stuff with strong smells but there is hardly any skin care which does not have perfume like smell. This cream also has a strong smell. The smell fades away after few minutes. Being a day cream it has sunscreen having UVA/UVB protectors. For Indian summers I don’t think SPF 15 is enough, but something is better than nothing.

Coming to the effect of the cream on my skin, I would say it evens out my skin, gives a pinkish matte glow and minimizes the appearance of pores. Since I do not have any wrinkles as yet, I cannot comment on that part. But anyway don’t believe in the age reversing claim of the company and when it comes to skin damage, prevention is the best cure. I have little pigmentation above my cheek and I have noticed it diminishes as I use this cream but it comes back as I stop using it. I guess I need to use it to keep the pigmentation under control.

I have noticed that after using this cream for continuous 4-5 days, I find some blocked pores on my cheeks which is not good for my acne prone skin. Also it gives white cast due to the presence of sunscreen.

I feel the price of the cream is little on the higher side while the quantity is so little. But it is anti aging we are talking about. This is a hot topic for the companies in the field of cosmetics & skin care. They can’t let go any chance of earning profit.

    1. Sam, even I love the glow it gives to my skin. Also it works very well on my mom’s skin. It’s just little heavy for my acne prone oily skin.
