Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Serum : Review, Photos

Hello Ladies,

Everybody having fun?? Two months back my life changed totally. What happened? My bundle of joy arrived. Pregnancy can change one’s skin drastically in a good way and sometimes (as happened in my case) in a bad way. I experienced terrible acne breakout during my 1st trimester. It went away in the 2nd trimester but left ugly marks behind. I didn’t really care about those marks back then because many other pains and aches were part of my routine. After delivery I realized I needed to get rid of those very pigmented and prominent acne scars.

Two weeks back, while browsing internet, I came across this Whitening Seru from Lakme. I am a beauty products hoarder hence made an impulsive purchase keeping my fingers crossed.

Price: Rs. 799 for 30 ml

My Views on the product:

The serum comes in a very attractive packaging. This comes in red color packaging having a silver pump on top. The pump has a lock mechanism to avoid the spill of the product. You need to twist the silver top in anti clock direction until you here a click sound which means you can now dispense the product. To close the pump, twist the top of the serum in clock wise direction. The description and directions to use the product are given on the outer carton and the inner packaging is quite devoid of such instructions.

The texture of the serum is milky white yet lightweight. It absorbs into skin very quickly. It gives a cooling sensation for some time to the skin. The smell of the serum is not very innovative but pleasant and mild. Since the serum is loaded with lots and lots of silicones, it gives very velvety feeling hence it could be easily worn under makeup.

The acne scars on my face were brown in color and quite pigmented since they were there from quite a long period. Also my face looked little dull and had a bronze hue (because of Iron tabs). I used this serum (alone), for 3 days once in the morning and once during nighttime. My face appeared clearer and brighter. Also the serum made a difference in the appearance of the acne scars. They were less visible. It meant the scars were fading. Even my aunt pointed out the difference. She asked me what I was using. I gave her the serum to test by herself on her pigmented face. And she was also very happy as in just 2-3 days her face was clearer and brighter.

It didn’t make my already oily skin, oilier, also didn’t face any breakout yet. I haven’t totally gotten rid of the scars yet but using a compact/BB cream I can get a clear face which was not possible earlier.

Coming to the negative point of the serum, I dislike the pump this serum comes with. When I got this serum for the very first time, the pump was useless; it just could not dispense any product. In order to use the serum I had to break the outer packaging (pump) completely.

Since I gave away the first product to my aunt, I got another one for myself. This time the pump is not as faulty as the previous one but still could act tricky sometimes. Also I don’t know why but the cosmetic companies try to sell their products by tagging as ‘Whitening’ while we all know no product can actually change the skin color. Even this product should be tagged as a brightening product.

Likes

  • Effective in removing stubborn acne scars
  • Shows effect in very short time
  • Lightweight
  • Didn’t break out my acne prone skin
  • Gives cooling sensation
  • Gives smooth finishing, makes a good makeup base
  • Very less quantity is required for each application and hence lasts long
  • Easily available online/offline

Dislikes:

  • Price is high for the given quantity, but since you require very small amount of the product, this con could be ruled out.
  • Loaded with silicones. Sensitive skin might react badly
  • Don’t expect whitening effect as its name says
  • Pump provided with the product, is most of the times faulty. This is quite a negative, if you really have to break the packaging as I did to use the product.

Final Words:

I am really impressed with this serum and really recommend it to those who are looking for an effective acne scar removing product. It is pricy but worthy.

P.S.: It’s loaded with silicones. In case you have sensitive skin, don’t use it continuously; try skipping a day or two so that your skin does not react badly to the serum.
