Vcare Shikkakai Paste – My Experience and Review

Hi everyone!!

I brought Vcare shikakkai few months ago when I was facing terrible hair fall. I somehow forgot about this and discovered it only few weeks back. Undoubtedly shikakai is good to hair but in general I have a opinion that it tends to dry hair. Plus the pain to powder/grind it and use it. That’s why I have always been sceptical to switch over to shikakai. This Vcare shikakai paste comes up in a easy to use paste form with a promise to nourish hair. Read further to know if this is a wothy hair care product. Do also check our recipe of Homemade Shikakai Powder.

My Experience with Vcare Shikkakai Paste:

Vcare shikkakai paste comes in a white brown tube. There is a small hole on the nozzle that controls that amount of paste squeezed Thoughtfully designed! The paste inside is thick and dark brown in colour. The product smells exactly like shikakai. As per the instructions, you need to mix little water and lather well before application. The shikakai paste does not lather heavily but decent enough to wash away dirt and oil. As I didn’t have patience to massage it for 5 minutes (as per instruction), I spent 2-3 minutes massaging before washing.

I was pretty happy with the results. My hair was soft and silkier that too without a seperate conditioner. My hair did not turn frizzy which normally happens when I use shikakai powder. Since the paste does not lather much like shampoo, we tend to use more product .I wonder if the tube will last atleast 4-5 washes. This is the only con that could be pointed. Apart form this Vcare shikkakai paste is definitely a nice find for my hair. I don’t plan to use it regularly, but will surely use whenever I feel I have loaded my hair with lots of silicons and parabens :)

Pros:

  • Completely herbal
  • Leaves hair nourished
  • Doesn’t need conditioner
  • Goodness of shikakai
  • SLS and paraben free
  • Mess free tube packing
  • Travel friendly

Cons:

  • Price for the quantity :(
  • Does not lather heavily
  • Will last only for 4-5 washes
  • Not easily available

MABH Rating: 4/5

Do I recommend?:
