Hello beauties! :)
How you all had been doing? It’s been March and we aren’t yet done with this winter season. I so badly want to feel the spring air. These days are proving to be very busy and stressful for me at the work end but still I am always excited to write for the blog and this curiosity helps me to get time to share some beauty benefits with you all. So, today what I am going to do is to bust some very common and irrelevant beauty myths (irrelevant according to me :P )
Myths are just myths, be them beauty myths, myths about some food, weight loss, any disease or whatever. It is always necessary and useful to bust them and let the world knows the reality. Basically while busting some myths we (the experts, definitely not me) give you a logical insight to the topic or statement concerned which in turn broadens your way of thinking and considering the facts. One should never just shut the doors of their minds and follow the trend to assume everything what the other person said, right. Of course that gives you the freedom to question me also.
Having said enough, lets get started now :) Here are the most common makeup myths!
MYTH 1 – Concealer should be lighter than the foundation
FACT : Wrong. The shade of the concealer need not be lighter than that of the foundation. Of course, for the foundation you can go for a shade lighter than your natural skin tone and we are opting for a lighter shade foundation with a yet another lighter shade concealer, how that concealer is gonna work for you? Concealers are meant to conceal your flaws, if any. So going for a shade lighter than your natural tone will make your flaws more prominent rather than hiding them. Always, match the shade of the concealer to that of your natural skin tone.
MYTH 2 – Blush only adds colour
FACT: Not at all. Blush is not only colour for your face, it is more than that. Another necessary makeup product, blush, can also be used for contouring and shaping your face. One can always use a blush to define and highlight one’s features. If used properly, it can help to contour cheek bones to make them appear sharper.
MYTH 3 – No black eyeliner for small eyes
FACT: Now this is something every girl would disagree to. No matter how small or big eyes we have, eyeliner is a must. But basically this myth states black eyeliner which is again busted successfully :P Black eyeliner on the rim of the eyelids can make small eyes look bigger by adding another dimension. So, don’t be afraid of indulging in a quick cat eye or thick strokes.
MYTH 4 – Red lips only suit light skin tones
FACT: I would call someone quoting this as racist :P Red is the colour of the season and matte red lipsticks are so much in trend. Wouldn’t it be unfair for the dark skinned girls not to sport the trend? No, it won’t be because this is another myth, not to be followed but busted. The colour red comes in various shades to suit different skin tones. Women with dark complexion can go for warmer shades of red.
MYTH 5 – Wearing makeup can cause breakouts
FACT: Now, this is a very very common myth and many just trust this blindly. But for me this is another myth to be busted. Skin breakouts depend on one’s personal beauty and hygiene routines. Accumulation of bacteria and oil cause skin problems, so invest in a good quality makeup remover and never go to bed without a clean face.
