MAC Frost Lipstick Fresh Moroccan Review

Well, I never liked any brown or cinnamon shade lipsticks, yet since I am a shopaholic (yes, I admit!), I bought things anyways. So, today, I am going to review MAC Frost Lipstick Fresh Moroccan.

Price & Quantity:

Rs. 990 for 3 g. (Recently hike in price- Rs. 1200 or so)

My Experience with MAC Frost Lipstick Fresh Moroccan:

Shade & Texture: The shade is a cinnamon shade, quite brownish with a little bit red undertone (confusing, right?). The shade looks brown under direct sunlight and in artificial light, it looks brick red. It has loads of shimmers; there is no denying about that! Well, because of the shimmers, it looks quite good for festive and party looks but the pain it to remove it completely. In India, we have zillions of festivals and occasions throughout the year, and this lipstick is just that perfect one that any Indian lady can rely on.

Also, when worn on the lips, the shimmers does not look overpowering; it seems almost barely there. But, once you try to remove, you will see loads of shimmers. The warm shade will suit Indian skin tone, in fact any skin tone I guess. I have medium skin tone and it brightens up my face.

Staying Power: The pigmentation is brilliant. It stays on my lips for at least 6 hours if not eaten (or forgotten that I have makeup on)! If I eat wearing this on, it starts to fade and not in a decent way. My lips never gets dried out wearing this lipstick, it provides some moisture also.

The Good Points:

  • Good pigmentation.
  • Stays for a long time.
  • Suits Indian Skin tone.
  • Does not look shimmery on the lips.
  • Nice cinnamon shade.
  • Good for party looks.

The Not So Good Points:

  • Expensive.
  • Loads of shimmers.
  • Removing is a tough job.

MABH Rating: 4.4/5.

First of all, I am not a fan of MAC Frost range, why? Because, frost means shimmers and I hate shimmery things. But somehow I liked the shade when swatched. And as I mentioned earlier, this is a very good match for festive makeup look for Indian skin tone. Many of us does not always feel comfortable wearing striking red or pink lipstick for party looks, but we always trust a good old brown/cinnamon shade. I wear it very rarely, when wearing traditional dresses; yet, I feel this shade is a must and useful for my vanity.
