Biotique Bio Redwood Naturally Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 Review

How many of you prefer applying foundation everyday? Tired of moisturizer + foundation routine? This is where the concept of ‘Tinted Moisturizers’ came as a quick fix. In India, we don’t have too many options that too with the arrival of BB and CC creams. This is my first tinted moisturizer. I brought this naturally tinted moisturizer from Biotique. Read on to find how well this fared my expectations.

My Take on Biotique Tinted Moisturizer:

The tinted moisturizer comes in a typical Biotique green coloured tub. The outer screw comes with an inner protective intermediate lid, which most of the times get’s stuck to the outer lid. The product is mildly perfumed and heavy in terms of texture. One would require very little product to cover face and neck. I usually dot and then blend it well with my finger tips. Its easier to blend as the product is greasy but the moisturizer does not get completely absorbed. This tinted moisturizer does not provide heavy coverage but fair enough to even out the skin tone. It gives a dewy finish and I set it with compact powder. Girls who like matt finish product can give this a pass.

It does irritate to dip my fingers every time to scoop out the product. So, I’ve started using Q tip for this. Since the tinted moisturizer comes with SPF 30 you won’t need a separate sunscreen. There are 3 shades available. The SA suggested ‘Olive’ shade for me. And you need to be careful with shade selection (no testers available). I think this product is perfect for office goers and college girls who want sheer coverage.

PROS:

  • Ideal for daily use
  • Very moisturizing
  • Smells good
  • Contains SPF 30 UVA & UVB protection
  • Claims to be preservative free
  • Not animal tested
  • Natural ingredients

CONS:

  • Gives oily finish
  • No testers available
  • Applying more product will make skin cakey
  • Unhygienic tub packing
  • Long tub packing is totally boring
  • Compact or loose powder is a must

MABH Rating: 4/5

Will I Repurchase?

This will last me at least a year. Once this gets over, I shall surely repurchase this moisturizer!

  1. well, I have always seen it in the counter but never thought of buying it.. dont know why..now that i knew that it will give an oily finish I am not getting it.

    1. Appu.. its got any oily finish which settles a bit on coating it with a powder.Still if you don’t like dewy finish, you can very well skip this!!

  2. Nice detailed review Harini. Am definitely giving this a try though I personally don like the oily finish but then loose powder should set that problem right, right?

  3. Nice review. I wish Biotique reworks on the look of the bottle containers and probably get a tube or something. I have used lot of Biotique products n hate scooping out things
