Coming to the topic, we are all aware of the basic cleansing, toning and moisturizing regime to take care of our skin. Sometimes we don’t include a very essential part of this skin care regime and that is exfoliation. So, why is exfoliation needed? Well, exfoliation helps is removing dead skin cells and makes our skin smooth. Exfoliators are available across stores where you can get them easily but what if you can make your own exfoliator at home naturally without spending bucks? In this post I shall tell you about some natural skin exfoliators and how you can use them.
1. Baking Soda Exfoliator
Baking soda is used multi purposely in our home. They are easily available in our kitchen. The fine grains in baking soda makes it a very good skin exfoliator. Take 2 table spoon of baking soda & mix it with little water. Make a paste & apply it on your face. Massage in circular motions for 5 minutes. Leave on for another 2 minutes & then wash it off with water. Baking soda has several skin benefits.
2. Oatmeal Face Exfoliator
Ground oatmeal acts as a wonderful exfoliator and helps in removing dead skin cells easily. It is very gentle too and works well on every type of skin. Mix 1 table spoon of ground oatmeal to ½ tablespoon of salt and 2 tablespoon of water. Apply it on to your face and massage well in circular motions for 10 minutes. Wash it off with water.
3. Coffee Face Exfoliator
Coffee besides working as a great exfoliator also serves as a great anti ageing agent due to the presence of antioxidants and caffeine. Mix 2 table spoons of coffee to little amount of water and make a paste. Apply it on your face and rub it gently in circular motions. Do this for 10 minutes and wash it off with cold water.
4. Tomato Face Exfoliator
Tomatoes acts as natural bleach and removes dark spots. Cut tomato in slice; sprinkle a pinch of sugar over it. Rub this to your face gently until the sugar granule dissolves. Rinse off your face with cold water.
5. Strawberry Face Exfoliator
Mash strawberry well, mix it 1 table spoon of sugar and little water. Rub it in circular motion on your face gently for 10 minutes. Wash off with cold water. This scrub also helps to even out your skin tone.
6. Pineapple Face Exfoliator
Pineapple contains special enzymes that help to clarify skin problems. This exfoliator can be prepared by mashing pineapple and mixing it with 1 tablespoon of salt and little water. Apply it to your face and exfoliate for 10 minutes. Wash off with water.
7. Almond Face Scrub
Mix finely ground almonds to 1 tablespoon of water or rose water. Almonds are good source of Vitamins. Apply it on your face and rub it gently in upward circular motions. Do this for 5 minutes and wash off with cold water.
