Sunny Rays in Rainy Days Nail Art – Photo Tutorial

Hello everyone!

Half moon was the name I thought for this nail art before practically doing it. I first draw I ideas and if they seem good, I send the names to Lancy. But, when I started doing this, I got some better ideas and tweaked and twisted a bit and made a really different nail art altogether. So, here is my Sunny Rays in Rainy Days NOTD.

Things you will need:

  • White nail art enamel.
  • Bright Orange nail enamel.
  • Bight Pink nail enamel.
  • Top coat nail enamel.
  • Q-tip and nail enamel remover.

Tutorial:

Step 1: Firstly, clean your nails to get started. Then, carefully draw a half circle at the roots of the nails. This will be your sun. If the half circle is not perfect, you still can go on as you will get lot more chances to make it look perfect in coming steps.

Step 2: Now, liberally apply the white nail enamel on the outer area of the nails, leaving the half-circled roots. Now, this is very important as this white part is the king-part of this nail art. So, after applying two coats, let at least 10 minutes to dry.

Step 3: Then carefully fill the half-circled roots area with the orange nail enamel. Just try to do it with steady hands, I also did some mistakes though. :P

Step 4: Now, coming to the rays, I would recommend using nail art enamels for this one. If you check in the shops you will get small plastic bottles with both a squeeze out and brush technique; it costs no more than INR 25 but they are specially made for nail arts and you can get all the possible colors and even neon ones.

With this nail art bottle, I drew straight lines from the half circle to the tip of the nails. Apply double coat.

Step 5: You can see that the sun is not perfect, so draw another half circle around the orange nail enamel but very carefully.

But, here is the twist. I did it too soon and as the orange nail enamel was not dry, the white enamel caught the orangey yellow tint which made it look prettier, right? So, the trick will be to do it while the orange enamel is still fresh.

Step 6: In the mean time with the Q-tip and nail enamel remover, clean the messes around the nails carefully.

Step 7: And, wait for another ten minutes before you apply top coat. And then, you are done!

So, I planned for a design and when doing it turned out to be another one which is now on my favorites list. I got appraisal comments like ‘rising sun’ and ‘bright sun’ from my friends, which made me really happy at that time! :-)  I only hope you guys like this one. And please share your views on this, friends!
