Vaseline Healthy White Lightening Visible Fairness Lotion Review

by Adi

Hello ladies! So I have an HG eye liner, an HG lip balm, kajal and mascara, but somehow, I have never found a moisturizer that I thought was irreplaceable. So I keep juggling between random Nivea, Avon and Vaseline moisturizers. I picked up yet another new one the other day and it is the Vaseline Healthy White Lightening Visible Fairness Lotion so that’s what I’ll be reviewing today. :)

Price and Quantity:

Rs 75 for 100 ml

My Take on Vaseline Healthy White Lightening Visible Fairness Lotion:

The lotion comes in a typical flat bottle packaging that most Vaseline moisturizers come in. It is a plastic bottle with a flip open cap. I don’t like the fact that the product accumulates at the mouth of the bottle, it is really messy.

It has a very light weight texture and feels quite smooth on the skin; it also blends in seamlessly and with minimal effort. The lotion has a pink tint to it and a pleasant fragrance (again characteristic of Vaseline lotions).

Now, the instant fairness claim is pretty tall and honestly I didn’t expect it to be true. So why did I buy this lotion? I don’t know if any of you girls have noticed (or maybe it’s just me who has this problem), but after applying moisturizer, my skin always looks darker. I don’t know whether it’s because my skin is hydrated and hence a bit greasy, but it definitely looks a shade darker. So that’s why the ‘instant fairness’ claim appealed to me. And in that aspect, this lotion doesn’t disappoint. My skin looks moisturized yet not darker. I think it may be because of the pink tint of the lotion.

Why I like this Body Lotion?:

  • Light texture
  • Blends very easily into the skin
  • Lightens skin very slightly on application (probably because it is tinted)
  • Reasonable price
  • Moisturizes skin, especially good for the summer months when a light moisturizer is required
  • Pleasant fragrance

Why I don’t like this Body Lotion?:

  • Does not lighten skin
  • Says it has ‘triple sunscreens’ but doesn’t mention exact sun protection
  • Will not be moisturizing enough for very dry skin or in winters
  • Product tends to accumulate at the mouth of the bottle

MABH Rating: 2.5/5

Final word:

If you’re looking for a product that gives you instant fairness, this is NOT it. The instant fairness claim is true only to a tiny extent because of the tint in the moisturizer, but it disappears very quickly. That said, this lotion still has many positives and it can serve as a pocket-friendly everyday moisturizer if that is what you are looking for.

Will I repurchase?:

Yes I may, unless I find something better. However I am yet to discover my HG moisturizer! :/

Hope you girls liked this review!

  1. i like the previous version adi…:)it actually made me hands lighter…sad…why did they change it..X(..nice review:)i was waiting on this..

    1. Yes, I agree with you.
The previous version make my skin tone lighter, but the new range of Vaseline whitening product does not work as well.
Tried the Vaseline Healthy white perfect 10 and UV lightening but not much effect is visible.
Might change to other brand, Nivea maybe.

  2. Actually I love this lotion. But I use it’s other version which comes with SPF mentioned on it. It is priced a bit more than this one. Don’t really care about the instant fairness claim.
    Nice review.

  3. I like the product’s price ! :P healthy white version never worked for me.. And after you’ve said so much i might as well skip it and stick to my usual ones :) nice review :)
