Oats Mini Facial At Home For Instant Glow

by Harini

Hello friends,
These days oats has occupied an important place in my kitchen pantry. Oats is loaded with high levels of fibre and protein and low levels of fat. There are numerous health benefits on consuming oats. What about its benefit to skin?. Today I thought I will share oats benefits to skin. The best thing about using oats on skin is that it suits all skin types very well. Make sure you are using plain oatmeal. These days you get flavoured ones in market. Today, I have used Quaker instant oats. With no further delay, lets see the ingredient list.

About the ingredients:

Oats: Acts as a great cleanser and exfoliator. Proven to cure dry and itchy skin.

Curd: Zinc and lactic acid present in curd keeps your skin hydrated and nourished.

Lemon: This citric fruit helps you to get rid of dark spots and pigmentation. Also, lemon juice effectively treats acne scars.

Honey: Acts as a good moisturizer and also treats acne by removing bacteria accumulated on skin’s surface.

Milk: Raw milk is a wonderful cleanser. With regular usage, you will find your skin soft and glowing.

Ingredients Required:

  • Oats  1/2 cup
  • Almond 7 or 8 nos
  • Honey  2 tsp
  • Milk (unboiled) 4 tsp
  • Curd 3 tsp
  • Rose water
  • Cotton

Directions:

Step 1:

Cleansing: Cleansing your skin is very important as it removes the dirt and make up residues. Today we are going to use raw milk to cleanse. Unboiled milk is a excellent cleanser. Dip cotton in unboiled milk and slightly squeeze the extra milk and clean your face in upward movements.

Step 2:

Scrubbing: Scrubbing or exfoliating your skin at least once in week is essential to remove dead cells and reveal skin glow. To use oats as a scrub, grind instant oats and almond into a fine powder and finally mix honey. Since, we are making a face scrub, I prefer to grind it into very fine particles (say like sooji). Exfoliate using this paste in circular motion for 3-4 minutes.

Step 3:

Steaming: Steaming helps to open up pores. Boil 3 cups of water. Once you see bubbles, turn off stove and steam the vapours. You can use a towel to seal the vapours. This step is done for 4-5 minutes. Though this is optional step, it increases the results of using face pack.

Step 4:

Face Pack: Face pack is used to add instant glow. To prepare oatmeal face pack, combine powdered oats with curd and make a thick paste. Now add lemon juice extracted from half lemon. Our pack is ready to use. Evenly apply the pack all over face and neck. Dip cotton in rose water and use it as an eyepad. Let the pack dry for 15-20 minutes and wash you face. Pat dry with a towel.

Step 5:

Moisturize/Sunscreen: The last step in any facial is to moisturize the skin. I found this step optional as oats pack did not dry my face. Yaaaayy!

That’s it. Our mini home facial is done. See you all soon.. till then take care & stay beautiful !!
