Lakme Gentle and Soft Deep Pore Cleanser Review

Hi everyone!

Today I’m here to review a product that was actually an accidental buy. I was looking for a cleansing face wash and I ended up buying this cleanser by Lakme instead! However, I have only ever used the Ayur Herbal Cleansing Milk so I thought that I may as well try out this new cleanser. Read on to know what I think about it!

Price and Quantity:

Rs 110 for 120 ml

My Take:

The cleanser comes in a cute plastic packaging. I quite like the shape of the bottle! However it is opaque so you never know how much cleanser is left. That won’t be a problem for a while though because the quantity is quite good.

The consistency of the cleanser is quite runny, like a lotion. It spreads easily on my skin. I used it with cotton as instructed (by the cute bottle :D). I really like that it does not dry out my skin, though I was sort of expecting that since it says it is suitable for ‘normal to dry skin’. I think this will be okay to use in winters too.

What I hate about this cleanser is how much it stings my eyes! I know that they have mentioned to avoid contact with eyes but sometimes accidental contact happens, people. And then if it feels like I’ve just touched a green chili and then touched my eye, it’s not a happy situation. Okay that was a bit of an exaggeration but yes; it does sting quite a bit.

One more thing I’m not sure about is that I think this may have broken me out slightly. But it says it’s a gentle cleanser so I’m not really sure that this is the culprit. I highly doubt it, but my breakouts coincided with some products including this one, so I thought I should just mention it.

Overall I do like how the cleanser makes my face look cleaner and brighter after a tiring day. It’s very easy to work with and feels very gently on the skin. It also removes all traces of makeup easily, however I didn’t try it on eye makeup (read chili comparison above!).

What I like?:

  • Reasonably priced
  • Does not dry out my skin
  • Removes impurities, deep cleans
  • Feels gentle on the skin
  • Removes all traces of makeup
  • Pleasant fragrance
  • Not greasy or sticky, skin doesn’t feel oily after use

What I don’t like?:

  • Contains parabens
  • Stings eyes a lot

Rating: 4/5

Final word:

The Lakme deep pore cleanser does a very thorough job of removing impurities and cleansing my face without making it too greasy or too dry.  It does its job so if you’re on the lookout for a new cleanser, you could try this out. Be sure to test it out before using it all over you skin.
