Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse Review, Photos and Swatch

by Venetha

Hi friends,
We all love to be dolled up and pretty all the time right :) We are naturally blessed with so much beauty that everyone is a princess. Enhancing our beauty is what the makeup does and the most widely sought after product is foundation. It provides an even and perfect look. Lakme launches the Absolute range a while ago and it has caught the attention of many. I purchased the Lakme Absolute mattreal skin natural mousse from the range and I will be reviewing the same here.

My Take on Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse:

The foundation comes in a really cute spherical tub that I simply adore. Looks wise, it is very different from anything else in the market. I love the color and the reflective surface. But the tub packaging leads to quite a mess every time I dig into the product. Some of the mousse gets stuck on the edges too which annoys me a lot.

Coming to the texture, it feels like dream when touched between fingers :) It is so perfectly whipped, light and silky that it feels unreal to even touch it. When applied on the face, it is such an ease to work with; it just spreads so well. The finishing look is totally matte. The face looks naturally bright and doesn’t look cakey.

Medium coverage is what I would describe it as, but that is more than enough since none would want to be seen with an extremely made up face all the time. However if you have dark pigmentation around your eyes or nose, then it won’t cover it up so well. The foundation gives a flawless finish and the pores are less evident. You need not set the product with powder as it is good and matte on its own.

This is best suited for oily skinned beauties as the face remains oil free for a long time. Dry skinned girls will also find it good, provided they moisturize really well before. The staying power is totally jaw dropping. The foundation stays put for the entire day, I mean literally and there was only very little fading. It is water proof to a certain extent. It kept my face fresh and oiliness was under control too. If you are going to be outdoors the entire time, then you will have to touch up and the staying power may not be that great.

The foundation smells strongly of orange peel or something like that. I get reminded of Ponds oil control talc. The fragrance is quite strong.

They claim it has SPF 8 but who are you kidding! This is such a negligible amount of sun protection that was rather not present in the first place. You cannot skip your regular sun screen at any cost.

There are only 3 shades available. It is high time Lakme thought about changing this trend of offering only a few shades to choose from. Make sure you try it on and pick the right one while purchasing; otherwise it is going to look hideous.

Why I like this Foundation?:

  • Light and silky texture
  • Easy to blend
  • Gives a natural smooth matte finish – perfect for oily skin
  • Waterproof/sweat proof
  • Controls oil
  • Medium coverage

Why I don’t like this Foundation?:

  • Limited shades
  • No list of ingredients

MABH Rating:

4.5/5

Overall Verdict:

Rightly said, ‘makeup that doesn’t look made up’. Oily skinned beauties are sure to love this one.

Do you like Lakme Absolute Makeup Collection? Have you tried this Mousse?
