Dabur Gulabari Premium Gulab Jal Rose Water Review

Hello lovelies!

I know most of you must be familiar with this product. I, too, have known about it since ages, but I bought it only recently. Why? Well what do you know; I recently discovered the need to tone skin. That’s right – I’ve never used a toner before! Wow I should be shot. Anyway, I decided to see what all the hype was about and also complete my cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine by purchasing a tried and tested natural toner: Dabur Gulab Jal. Rose water is known for its ability to cleanse skin and reduce pore size. So let’s see how this product fared for me!

Price : Rs 37 for 120 ml; Buy : Amazon.in

My Take:

The product comes in a cylindrical plastic packaging that is transparent. Rose water is supposed to be the best toner for dry skin. My skin is combination in summers tending to dry in winters, so I thought it would be right for me.

I use this at night just before sleeping. After I have washed my face with either soap or face wash, I take a piece of cotton and wet it with this product and then gently rub the cotton on my face, focusing more on the areas with pore problems like around my nose. I don’t feel the need to rinse it off and it is not sticky at all. In fact, it is transparent and its consistency is just like water. It smells quite strongly of roses in the bottle but when I apply it on my face, the smell is not at all overpowering or bothersome.

I love this toner because when I wake up in the morning, after having used it before sleeping, my skin just glows! We all love products that give us tangible results immediately right?! I can’t comment on the toning effect since I have been using it only for a week or so but I will post a comment if I see any visible changes :)

Likes:

  • Helps to cleanse and tone skin
  • Did not break me out
  • Inexpensive
  • Not sticky or greasy or uncomfortable to use
  • Can be used in three different ways
  • Does not have an overpowering fragrance

Dislikes:

  • Contains parabens (Why they have to put parabens in rose water is beyond me. Does anyone know why?)

Rating: 5/5

Final Word:

I love this one because I can immediately see results when I use it. This is a great inexpensive product that is very good for your skin, unless of course, it happens to break you out. I highly recommend this especially to beauties with combination to dry skin :)

  1. I have this one in spray somehow this doesnt suits me when used directly… cause irritation. When I use it in facepacks I liked it.

    1. Yes I’ve heard that some girls have this problem with it.. that’s why I mentioned it in the end :) but I’m glad it works for you in the face pack :)

    1. :D Lancy you have slightly oily skin na? Do a patch test first just in case :) though I don’t think there should be any problem, it works wonderfully for my combination skin :)

  2. It is the cheapest toner around and a good one at that :) however adi like yu said it doesn’t suit my oily skin so well..

  3. oh,,,i used to like this..but i like banjaras one more…it doesn’t have alcohol..but this one does…try it adi….you will love it…nice review:)

  4. They add parabens for a few reasons:
    1. It is a preservative
    2. It gives you that waxy smooth feel
    3. It is cheaper than the biological alternative of Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE)

  5. I have just bought a bottle of gulabari rose glow face cleanser.. My frnd said that it darkens the skin.. Is it so?? Coz no one can compromise with the skin colour

  6. Gulabri contents chemical ingredients which is clearly mentioned on that label so dont consider it as Rose water rose water is a distilled water from rose petals . Pure rose water can be such cheap if you found in such cheap prices it cant be pure.

You may try kama ,forest essential or petals for pure form.
