My Take on Covergirl Professional Loose Powder Translucent Medium:

The powder is available in a simple transparent mint in outer packaging with the description of the product at the back cover. Inside there is medium size plastic jar/tub with fenestration for the powder and an application sponge which looks very pretty. Due to this smart packaging you get only the desired amount of powder, thereby preventing wastage.

The color resembles medium skin tone, it is fine powder a mild baby powder like smell which I love, not at all overpowering for sensitive noses too. The texture is very smooth as compared to pressed powder which are sometimes chalky and cakey.

Depends on how much makeup you use you can either wear it alone or over your foundation. Just take desired amount of powder on the given applicator sponge or powder brush, brush off the excess, dab it lightly on your face and neck area and then blend in light feathery strokes, you can apply more over your T-zone if that oils over the time.

Covergirl Loose Powder ~ Before and After Application:

I’m super impressed with this because it is such a versatile product, you can use it as a base, foundation or to set the foundation. Also the powder is very sheer and gives medium to full coverage depending the quantity in which you use the product, I really like the way the powder instantly brightens up your face giving it more or less matte finish with teeny- tiny particles of glitters in it which is not at all OTT and makes your face glow.

The formula is satin smooth and it did not irritate my sensitive skin as it claims. The powder completely matches my skin tone and really helps makeup stay in place and fade very slowly but did not help the oil factory on my face, maybe I’m excessively oily or whatever but I still end up with an oily face at the end of the day, However re-applying does help controlling much oil.

Despite one major flaw for a very oily skinned woman like me it does the work for a good loose powder just fine. Also I’m quite happy with the huge quantity it lasts for months, my last one lasted for good 10+ months as the wastage is very less.

PROS of Covergirl Professional Loose Powder:

  • Good quantity
  • Travelling friendly packaging
  • Does not irritate sensitive skin
  • Ergonomically packaged reducing wastage
  • Very light and smooth in texture, does not makes your face look heavy.
  • Medium to full coverage
  • Very sheer but gives a matte look
  • Controls shine for about 3-4 hours
  • Tiny glitters don’t make it look OTT
  • Suitable for both day and night wear
  • Helps set makeup and make it last longer

CONS of Covergirl Professional Loose Powder:

  • Fails to control the oil for a long period of time :(
  • Availability

MABH Rating: 4.5/5.

Do I Recommend?:

Yes. It will definitely work nicely for normal to combination skin type girls.
