Hello my beauties! I don’t know how many of you read my Avon twilight sparkle review – an eye liner from the their Glimmersticks Diamonds range. I had said in that review that I would be reviewing two more eyeliners from that range. Well here I am to review Emerald Glow, one of my favourite coloured eyeliners! Read on to know just what’s so special about this eyeliner 🙂
Rs 299 for 0.28 g
The eyeliner is in the form of a retractable pencil so no product wastage because of sharpening! (In school too I could never sharpen pencils in one go, mine always broke!) The tip does get blunt after one use, sort of like Colossal Kajal, you know what I mean? But it doesn’t need sharpening. Well, you couldn’t sharpen it even if you wanted to, right? Anyway, let’s move on.
Emerald Glow is a deep green shade. It is a pure green; not those greens what have blue undertones and all. It is a jewel toned green so the name really is justified. It has tiny bits of sparkle embedded in the pencil, which does show up on the eyelid. It has really good pigmentation and 2 swipes are enough – you may require 3 if you want a thicker, more prominent line. It does not pull or tug on my eyelid.
Within a minute or two of applying the eyeliner it sets into a smudge proof semi-matte finish, and it doesn’t really budge for the rest of the day, unless of course you rub your eyes very hard! I think the longest I’ve worn it was about 5-6 hours and it didn’t budge. It is also completely waterproof.
Why I like?:
- Universally flattering shade of deep emerald green
- Gleaming, smooth finish with sparkles
- Waterproof and smudge proof
- Stays put for about 5 hours
- Retractable so no product wastage
- Does no tug on the eyelid
- Does not sting the eyes, contact lens safe (at least for me!)
Why I don’t like?:
- Can be hard to remove, especially the sparkles!
- Wish it was more easily available!
You can’t go wrong with Emerald Glow. The shade, the pigmentation, the staying power, the finish, everything about it is just perfect. It is a steal for the price, especially if you catch it on discount, which it almost always is! Unless you are not a fan of sparkly eyeliners, this one is definitely a must buy 🙂 It is one of the best green eyeliners out there.
Will I repurchase?:
Yes if I finish it but I’ve had it for about a year and there’s still so much left!
Hope you all liked this review! 🙂
