Elle 18 Nail Pops Nail Enamel Shade 06 Review and NOTD

Hello lovelies!

I’m back with a nail polish review this time, and it is from a super affordable range – Elle 18’s nail pops. I have two shades from this range, 06 and 65. Here I’ll be reviewing 06, which is a neutral brown nail paint with subtle mauve undertones. So let us get into the review :)

Price and Quanity:

Rs 50 for 5 ml

My Take:

Packaging: The packaging is what catches your eye. It is like an upside down lollipop which justifies the name nail pops, doesn’t it?! And it is super cute :D I found the circular bottle to be such a refreshing change! Plus it is sturdy (good for clumsy people like me!) and doesn’t allow leakage.

Shade: The shade itself is quite interesting because it is such a muted brown. Nail paints these days are full of blues, greens and corals so in a way this really stands out. The main reason I like it is because it is a wearable shade for formal occasions. This can also be used as a neutral base for bright nail art!

It isn’t a true brown though. It has strong mauve undertones as you can see in the photos and the shade looks more mauve than brown from some angles. This makes it a flattering neutral shade for fair to medium skin-toned girls. Plus since isn’t exactly a nude shade, I think this is a good balance between subtle but still eye-catching.

NOTD:

Formula: The formula of the polish started out quite decent, neither too thick nor too thin, but with time and use it has become slightly thicker so a bit tougher to apply (you can see some streakiness in the photos as well). However, I bought this nail paint almost a year ago, and I have used it 4-5 times, which probably means it is almost used up so I’m not really inclined to phrase this as a con. I think that, given its price, the formula is decent and remains so for quite a while. It starts to chip after about 3 days.

PROS:

  • Neutral shade will suit many skin tones
  • Inexpensive
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Colour stays true

CONS:

  • Formula becomes thicker over time
  • Slight bubbling on application after 4-5 uses

Rating: 4/5 (-1 for the issues with consistency over time)

Final word:

This shade is a great choice for girls who are looking for neutrals or wearable nail paints for work. At 50 bucks for a nail polish, these nail paints are ideal for a girl on a budget. Give them a try!

Hope you all liked the review! I’ll soon be reviewing no. 65 too, so do check back!

  1. I have this shade :-) its a beautiful shade but wish formula was bit better but what more one can expect from Rs 50 nail paint…

    1. I know Shikha. The formula started out great for me but it’s deteriorated after 4-5 uses.. but I have soooo many nail paints that I don’t use any one more than 5 times anyway ;)
