How many of you here are crazy-for-lipstick girls? Raise your hands! Lipstick is one cosmetic that can awesomely transfer a girl into a diva. Agree? But at the same time, it can also give you a ‘clown-y’ look if worn in a wrong manner. Following are the 10 common lipstick mistakes that women around the world make. Avoid these errors next time when you put on your lipstick to achieve that perfect color lips!
1. Wrong Shade Lipstick for Your Skin Tone:
Observe your skin tone. There is no good going to happen in choosing a wrong shade lipstick for your skin tone. Pinks, corals and any other bright shade would go well with lighter skin tones. If you have a dusky-medium skin tone, go for plums, browns and soft muted pinks. Anybody can wear a universal red lipstick, but make sure to choose a red that suits your skin undertone.
2. Funky Glitters on Lipstick:
Glitters on lipstick are really a fun but you ‘must’ avoid it if you are 35 or 40+. Glitters are for teens and 20s! There is no wrong if you wear them in a subtle manner, but just don’t over do it. Subtle shimmers will be okay but no strong shimmers or glitters please! Especially, shimmers are a big No-No for your study and work places.
3. Dark Lipstick on Thin Lips:
You may love those dark sexy lipsticks! but unfortunately, if you already have thin lips, dark lipsticks can make them look even more thinner if worn in a wrong way. You can use a lip plumper along with your dark red lipstick to make your lips look fuller and beautiful.
4. Light Lipstick on Big Lips:
As dark deep lipstick shades make thin lips more thinner, light lipsticks may sometime make your lips look bigger than usual if you already have fuller lips. Avoid very pale shades and light shades if you have those naturally fuller lips. Peachy pink shades, purple shades and everyday pink will look good on fuller lips. You can rock with most of those deep lipstick shades! Go red and you will look super hot.
5. Applying Outside the Lip Line:
Lipstick outside the lip line to make lips look bigger? I agree, you may have done that to make your thin lips fuller but that’s one of the worst lipstick tips ever. To make your lips big and fuller, you should not apply your lipstick outside the lip line. It may give an unnatural look that is unattractive. Instead, use a glossy lip lip only on the center of your lips or use a good branded lip plumper.
6. Over Glossy Lips:
Applying too much lip gloss over your lipstick will make your lips look bigger abnormally, if you already have big pouty lips.. Wait.. Are you going to try that on your thin lips? It won’t look natural too! If you have thinner lips, go with a glossy lip gloss over your matte lipstick but never ever wear a heavy lip gloss above your creamy lipstick. This will spoil your whole lipstick-look making your lips look over made-up.
7. Dark Lip Liner:
A very dark lip liner along with a light lipstick is the best way to look unattractive! Never wear a very darker shade of lip liner along with your lipstick. Wear your lip liner the right way to avoid unnatural lipstick look. If you are not sure about whether your lipstick and lip liner match or not, just dab the lip liner inside your lips after lining with the same lip liner. Wear your lipstick on top of it.
8. Lipstick on Teeth:
Eww… This thing can make you look ugly. Do not over apply your lipstick to avoid lipstick staining your teeth. Always dab a tissue over the extra lipstick from your lips after application. Mainly dab the inner corner of your lips to get rid of extra lipstick.
9. Wrong Red Lipstick:
Red lipsticks are an instant way to get that sexy glamorous look! If you are a pro in wearing red lipstick, I do not want to say you how to wear. But if you are a beginner, always start with a lipstick brush for a light application. Wear a red that suits your skin undertone – This is very much important! Wearing a wrong red lipstick might give you a opposite-to-sexy (unattractive!) look and moreover it might show your teeth yellow! Do you wan’t that? So please be careful while choosing a perfect red for you.
10. Bold Eye Makeup with Dark Lipstick:
You are wearing a hot red lipstick and okay it looks good. But what’s up with your heavy eye makeup with lots of mascara and kohl? Grr It makes your makeup look so made-up! To avoid this made-up look, always go light with eye makeup while wearing a red lipstick or any other deep lipstick.
