Himalaya Herbals Natural Sun Protection Lip Balm Review

by Arpita

I love purchasing and using lip balms. I have recently bought a few lip balms out of which this is the worst. Read on to find why! :P

Price:

Rs. 99 for 4.5 g

My Experience:

Packaging: It comes in the trademark Himalaya packaging. It has a retractable packaging, which is convenient. Somehow, I find the packaging boring and cheap looking. The bullet is a delicate baby and will break if you apply too much of pressure.

Fragrance: This has the weirdest fragrance I have ever sensed. I mean the fragrance bothers me so much. It stays on and on. I hate…Hate…HATE the fragrance. It is like Grease- Pure grease. Yucks!! I do not even want to write about the fragrance

Texture and Moisturizing power: It may seem a bit dry initially but after a few swipes, you will see that it has a smooth creamy texture but it feels waxy on the lips, which I hate. However, for dry lips, I think this lip balm will help. It has a good staying power of about 2-3 hours and it nicely moisturizes the lips.

PROS:

  • Nicely moisturizes the lips
  • Staying Power of about 2-3 hours
  • Price
  • Travel friendly

CONS:

  • Boring and cheap looking packaging
  • Fragrance (I have never sensed such a fragrance in any other lip balm ever!)
  • Waxy feeling
  • Very fragile bullet
  • Fragrance Lingers on
  • Transfers easily onto cups and all

Final Verdict: I do not recommend it at all and I will not repurchase this even if all the lip balms of this world are magically vanished! You will not be able to bear with the greasy fragrance it has. Just go to a shop where grease and all is found, ask them if they have pure grease and then run away from there after taking a sniff at it. Yes, that is what this lip balm smells like.

Rating: 1/5 [ giving 1 just for the staying power]

Honestly, I did not feel like writing this review but just wrote it to warn all of you about this BAD product. Hope I helped in saving your 99 bucks! Take care girls!

Good Luck Everyone!

Editor’s Note: I find the Himalaya Herbals Natural Intensive Lip Balm better than this in terms of cost and effectiveness. It has a not-so-good smell too but it works better. What say?

    1. This one may work for those with dry lips but I am sure that even they would HATE this Balm’s fragrance…. :/ :/ And yeah, Packaging is =((

    2. Himalaya herbals should really concentrate on their packaging :( Their face pack, face wash tubes leak.. the lip butter though good, comes in tub.. and what more.. overall the packaging is so bad.. I don’t like at all 7:P

  1. Yuppp.. It’s of course a dud product :-q I will never try any other Himalaya lip product than their lip butter..|

  2. It’s sad that it turned out sucha dud!! :( My dry lips would have loved it but my sensitive nose says Nooo to it :/

  3. I hv just finished using this lip balm. It is a very moisturising one but yes, I dont like its packaging & it leaves a white layer on my lips.
But it stays long & it wont melt like d tube one in summers.
