L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Conditioner Review

Hello ladies,

For a change today I am going to review a product that I recently found in my brother’s vanity (if you may call it that!) He does a lot of traveling around the globe and so I am always intrigued by the things that he carries in his shower bag which he does not mind sharing with me knowing very well that it might end up here on MABH :)

I was surprised to find L’Oreal in his bag. As I have been on the search for a good shampoo and conditioner for my really distressed hair, I borrowed it from him to give it a try. I was like, if it can work for my brother’s hair so can it for my hair!! And did it?? Lets find out…

Price & Quantity:

Rs 150/- for 180 g.

Shelf Life:

36 months from packed.

My Experience:

Packaging: This one is in the typical white plastic bottle with red and golden printing and cap. The cap is flip top one with a golden rim. Kinda chic looking I would say. Plastic bottle and flip top cap here means travel friendly and not messy too.

Colour, Fragrance and Texture: The colour is white as you can see from the swatch. The fragrance is very conditioner like. I do not find it any different from other conditioners. Nothing to like or dislike about. The texture too is like any other conditioner. A little thick and creamy.

How it works for me?: I have pretty good hair that is straight and wavy without having to use any styling products. It is definitely God’s blessings that I have such hair but the texture always gives me trouble. Perpetual split ends and dryness is a never ending issue with it. As a result of this I am always on the hunt for hair products. Natural products too do not seem to be effective for me. This particular one caught my attention for all the tall claims that it was making. I wanted to test them all!!! I used the shampoo, conditioner and serum. I will review the serum in my next post.

The shampoo did not do much for me though my brother will vouch for it. He is pretty happy with it :) The conditioner however was pretty impressive. I liked how easily it spread into the hair and the detangling effect after shampooing is really good making it soft and manageable. It also added a little bit of volume and bounce to the hair. It is a pretty decent product. As far as all the claims go, I can speak for smooth and supple hair but protected tips and strength are questionable. But, nevertheless, it is a good product. Happy customer here :)

PROS:

  • Availability
  • Not pricey
  • Travel friendly and not messy
  • The brand value
  • Made hair smooth and manageable
  • Also detangled shampooed hair with ease
  • Made hair supple and bouncy
  • In all lived upto most of its claims

CONS:

  • Not sure if it lives up to its claims of protected hair tips and strength
  • Needs the usage of the serum as well for complete visible results

Rating: 4/5 (due to above mentioned Cons)

Do I Recommend?

Yes, I would as I found it to be a decent product.

Would I Repurchase?:

Maybe???
