Enliven Refreshing Orange and Fresh Mint Shower Gel Review

By Lakshmi Ramya

Today it is time to review a refreshing shower gel from Enliven. Enliven is an England based brand and it holds 6 variants of shower gels.

Price and Quantity:

Rs.199 for 500ml
Product Availability:
Enliven shower gels and body moisturizers are pretty decently available in every beauty store. It is also available in many online stores.

Shelf Life:

3 years from the date of manufacture

My Experience:

While I have been bored with the Mannings green tea body wash, I was in search of one good shower gel where I’ve come across Enliven and though of giving it a try and I am glad I did. First thing I observed was, there are ‘no ingredients list mentioned’. I haven’t found from their site either. I have found a logo ‘Against Animal testing’. Sounds good!

Packaging: It is a plastic bottle with a narrow necked cap over it and the body is bulky. It is quite huge and not really easy to carry with. The plastic packaging seems to be cheap and flimsy. But it is of good quality and doesn’t break or crack in either way. The cap is ‘press’ type one, where we need to press it on one side which later opens the other side of the cap, which has a small hole through which the gel comes out.

I don’t prefer such sort of cap packaging to a shower gel bottle as it becomes difficult to keep lifting such bulky bottle, pouring the gel into hands and again when needed lifting it with those wet hands. It might slip and lead to wastage of product. I have faced such a problem initially.
So what I have done was that I simply used to pour the gel into my pump in dispenser, which is quite comfortable to use while taking bath. When I need to carry this with me, I generally place a tape over the cap of the bottle so that it doesn’t spill out any product.Color, Consistency and Fragrance: This shower gel is a light yellow coloured gel, which is like almost color-less and transparent. It has a thick consistency and holds no granules in it. The fragrance is the best thing of this shower gel. It has a kind of citrus smell. Very refreshing! And the fragrance lingers about half an hour after bath, just like most other shower gels.

I generally require 2 handful pumps of shower gel (When used in a pump-in dispenser) form complete bath. Coming to the foaming part, I can tell you that this does really lathers well, but when used a bit of more quantity. I have observed in few other brands that little is enough to lather. But with this, one needs a bit more amount to lather well. How it works?: It completely justifies as a shower gel. It completely cleanses off. It just makes squeaky clean. It doesn’t dry the skin at all. It lets the moisture stay balanced.

PROS:

  • Very affordable and easily available online and in stores
  • Good quality packaging
  • Pleasant fragrance
  • Gives a squeaky clean feel
  • Though the quantity to get decent lather is a bit much, it lasts for about 3 months
  • No animal testing
  • Doesn’t make the skin dry; Maintains the moisture

CONS:

  • Watery texture which makes it very slippery
  • Bulky body and thus not easy to carry

Do I Recommend?:

Yes. Definitely! It just stands by for what it is meant. A decent body wash, that gives squeaky clean feel, lasts long and quite affordable. Thumbs up Enliven!!!

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes. May be once more, and then will try other variants.
