Ayur Herbal Astringent with Aloe Vera Review

Hi All!

Dermatologists often recommend the use of astringent for acne. The main reason being, most astringents contain anti bacterial and anti septic properties. These properties help remove excess dirt and bacteria (both contributors to breakouts) from pores, as well as underlying skin, that are not normally removed through regular cleansing. Today, here is a review on Ayur Herbal Astringent which I have been using for years.

Price & Quantity:

Rs. 50 for 100ml
Rs. 75  for 200ml
Rs. 150 for 500 ml

Shelf Life:

Best before 3 years from the date of manufacture.

My Experience:

This product comes in a semi-transparent white sturdy bottle with a screw cap. There is a tiny hole on the top for dabbing cotton with astringent. The astringent is bluish green in colour.

It has a very strong fragrance. Those with a sensitive nose will not like it. But it fades away soon after application.

The best way to use this astringent is before applying make up. First cleanse your face using your regular cleanser or face wash and then apply this toner and immediately moisturize your skin and then continue with your usual make up routine. This way your make up will last long. I would suggest its usage twice a day. I use it before going out for work and then at bedtime.

It also controls oil for around five hours and minimizes pores to a great extent. Just a few drops of this astringent is enough for the entire face. Just dab the cotton and never rub it on the skin. You should always follow up with a moisturizer after using this.

This astringent is perfect for summers. I would suggest dry skinned people to stay away from this as it will dry out the skin. It is only suitable for those having oily skin.

PROS:

  • Very cheap
  • Easily available
  • Didn’t break me out
  • Gives a cooling sensation
  • Minimizes pores
  • Keeps my skin oil free for around 5 hours
  • Very effective product for those having oily skin
  • Bottle is travel friendly. Does not leak.

CONS:

  • Fragrance is a bit strong
  • A big no for those having dry skin
  • Contains paraben

Rating: 4/5

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! A must for oily skinned people and great to use for summers. It is so cheap. A 200 ml bottle will last for at least 5 months.

Would I Repurchase?:

Of course! I keep on trying different toners and I end up coming back to this one!
