Tips and Toes Mineral Compact Review

by Arpita

Today, I am going to review the Mineral Compact from Tips and Toes. I have used it in both summers and in winters. Let us see how it worked for me.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 350 for 6g

Shade:

Sea Coral

Shelf Life: 36 Months

My Take:

Packaging: It is a not so sturdy flip open top with a sponge applicator placed separately inside; very shiny silvery case with a perfect mirror placed inside.

Sponge applicator is slightly rubbery but is better than other non-rubbery applicators (buffs), which I have tried. Overall, the sponge applicator is good. It came with an outer carton, which I threw away (Very sorry for doing that).

Fragrance: It has a rubbery fragrance…Umm…like that of rubbery talc! Fragrance added to it is weird. However, it does not linger on.

Texture: Chalky in texture, which, if not used properly, will leave a whitish, chalky, cast behind.

Oil control: It will not help much in controlling oil secretion of very oily skin types like mine. Oil comes back just in an hour. Therefore, this is a major con for me :(

Coverage: This does not claim to give full coverage or anything but, I did expect it to slightly cover the imperfections on the skin. But NO! It won’t do that. Rather it just gives a glow to the face and blends in if used in proper quantity.

Overall quality: I have mixed feelings about this compact. The stylish packaging made me buy it. However, it does not serve the purpose for me, that is, oil control. Well, it does help to give a subtle glow to the face, which also fades after 2 hours or so.

PROS:

  • Stylish packaging
  • Sponge applicator in this compact is better than others, but not the best
  • Gives a subtle glow to the face if used properly
  • Mineral makeup compact
  • Did not break me out

CONS:

  • The subtle glow fades in 2 hours
  • Oil controlling power is very less
  • Leaves a chalky cast if used slightly more
  • Rubbery fragrance
  • Pricey

MABH Rating: 2.5/5 (-0.5 for leaving chalky cast, -0.5 for price -1 for not controlling oil for long time and -0.5 as the glow does not last long.)

Will I recommend or Repurchase?:

No ways!

Final Verdict:

Well, as you can see, this compact does not serve the purpose of oil control, which I expected. And for this price we have better options!
