Just Herbs Aloevera Facial Massage Gel Review

by Shruti

What name can you give a plant which comes with so many benefits and is super awesome? Superplant, like Superman? All of you must have guessed it already. Nah? Come on! It’s a long-stemmed plant with leaves containing transparent gel. Yes, I am talking about Aloevera! Women, 1000’s of years ago, have been using it in their beauty regime (Women will always be women) :)
As usual, my skin started flaring up and this time it was my nose. It was dry nd flaking and I was fed up of applying creams which made it redder. I had seen a couple of aloe vera gels in my local supermarkets but then somebody told me about this gel and in a couple of days, I got this delivered.

Just Herbs is a company which brings you ancient wisdom in a new bottle. It follows the old Ayurvedic Bhaishajyas (texts) and formulates products with plants and herbs. This is one such product of theirs :)

Claims:
An intensive skin rejuvenating facial massage gel designed to nourish ,hydrate and liven up dull and lifeless skin. Aloevera inhibits the over production of enzymes responsible for the breakdown of the collagen-elastin matrix of the skin and provides protection against sun’s UV rays, clears away blemishes, while cucumbers restore the natural moisturising factor(NMF) by delivering vitamins and moisture to the deepest layers of sun-exposed skin .Aloevera and soy lecithin provides nourishment, stimulating the skin’s metabolic functions and combats free radicals to prevent the effects of oxidative skin damage.

Price & Quantity: Rs.395 for 100 gm

Key Ingredients: Aloevera, Cucumber, Soy Lecithin.

Usage Directions:
Regular massage effectively removes sun tan from the face, neck and the back. For best results, follow by the application of Just Herbs Petalsoft Antitan Rose Face Pack or Fennel and Manjishtha Rejuvenating Beauty Pack.

My Experience:

Packaging: The packaging is eco-friendly. In the age of ‘saving the world’ and ‘being green’, I totally love this even though it’s a tad unhygienic. The reason being it comes in a tub with a screw top. So every time you need to use it, in goes your fingers (along with a little germs).I know. Scary! But the pros of it outweigh the cons.

Colour, Consistency & Fragrance: Green!! A thick gel which spreads easily. It smells faintly of cucumber and some other herbal smell.

How it works: Massage it on your face after cleansing. It spreads easily and gets absorbed in a jiffy. I got this specifically to remove acne marks. After applying this for a week or so, I was amazed to see them reduced. It also reduced my tan. Another thing you could try is take a little product in your palm, apply water and then gently massage your face. After applying this, your face might shine. Do not fear because this gets absorbed within minutes leaving your face soft and supple. This helped me in many ways. I had acquired a face wash recently which was working fine on my face but just making my nose dry.  Weird right? So every day after washing my face I applied this on my nose and in a few days, the dryness had reduced. His also doubles up as an under eye gel. There is a marked reduction in my puffiness around my eyes.

PROS:

  • Easily absorbed
  • Reduces dryness
  • Can be used as an under-eye gel
  • Reduces blemishes
  • Skin becomes soft and clear
  • No breakouts (atleast for me)
  • Eco friendly packaging
  • Will suit all skin types
  • Can be used as a daily moisturizer

CONS:

  • Expensive for an aloevera gel
  • Tub packaging is unhygienic
  • Availability
  • Aloevera gels are transparent in colour and this is green.(which means it has some added colour)

Rating: 4/5 (I have reduced 0.5 for the price)

Do I Recommend?:
If you would like to try something for acne and puffiness, then you can buy this. But I would suggest another brand whose review will be coming up soon. I love that gel and its cheaper. I have nothing against the company or the product but I like that better.

Would I Repurchase?: No

    1. Hmmm.. A friend of mine suggested me to use Iraya Almond Skin Food and I am using it every night now. It helps a lot in curing skin dryness and roughness around the corners of nose.. Let me try the rustic art aloe gel you suggested.. It comes with a reasonable price tag too. :)
