by Supriya

Hello all Lovely Ladies,
So how has your day been so far? Mine was really hectic with a series of work in progress but could squeeze in time to do what I am passionate about – writing reviews. So here I am with yet another review and this time of a makeup product – Coloressence Premium Shades 2 in 1 in Maple.

Coloressence Premium Shades 2 in 1 Eye and Lip Pencil in Maple Review

What does the Company Claims:

Coloressence 2 in 1 liners do not find any mention on their website. However, the e-commerce site from where I have purchased this product, describes the liner as – “Vivid and vibrant colors in a creamy texture can be used as eye liner pencil and eye shadow too. It gives precise definition to eyes giving a silky and smooth finish”.

Price & Quantity: Rs.150 for 0.05oz (roughly 1.5 gm)

My Experience:

Since I am not much of a lipstick person and stick to lip glosses only. Recently, I developed a liking for lip liners as they give your lips a matte effect, define your lips and cover the lip pigmentation beautifully. So I laid my hands on a lot of lip liners, mostly pinks and reds and a couple of mauve / plum. As evident from the name, this liner can be used doubly on both lips and eye. However, I use it only on the eye – lid and am vary about trying it on the water line.

Packaging: The pencil is of the same color of that of the liner with a semi-transparent-same color cap. This makes spotting the shade easy in between the lot.

Color, Texture and Pigmentation: This is beautiful shade is a red with pink undertones. Those who are looking for not-so-bold-but-red lip can give this a sure shot try.

Hand Swatch:

How it works: Now coming to the application part, it is easy to apply and does not tug my lip and eyelids. It is quite pigmented and two swipes are sufficient to bring out the full color. However, you can restrict to a single swipe if you like the tint. It is advisable to exfoliate your lips before application of any kind of lip liner or lip product for that matter. It can be used alone for a matte look and also over a lip balm for a subtle glossy look. However, it does not moisturize the lips.

Lip Swatch:

The staying power is decent for about 4-5 hours and can survive a light meal, after which a soft tint of color is left behind. During a typical day in office, I do not re-apply the pencil, rather I just top it up with a lip balm (non-pigmented) to give that slight shine.

PROS:

  • Does not tug on lip and eyelids
  • Does not cause irritation on eye
  • Pigmented enough to cover lip dis-coloration
  • Good staying power
  • Decently priced
  • Contains beeswax, castor oil and coconut oil (hydrogenated)

CONS:

  • Does not moisturize lips
  • Baffled by the list of chemical ingredients!

Makeup and Beauty Home Rating: 4/5

Do I Recommend?: I would recommend this liner to lovers of red.

Would I Repurchase?: Yes, I really liked the color.

  1. Good Morning Girliessss :D
Nice review Sippy… The swatch looks bold on the hand but settles very subtle and natural on the lips.. Seems like a very natural red shade for ‘red’ beginners!

    1. yes… thats right lancy.. it gives the right amount of red color to lips… nothing OTT :) thats y i like it so much :)

    1. yes chand for the whole lips… it gives a matte effect to ur lips and there are many who like to keep that ways… the pencil does not moisturize lips neither it makes them dry and u can always wear a transparent lip balm above or beneath it for the required moisturization :)
